How recharge works on Wepego

One number in, the right plan out

Prepaid mobile and DTH recharge sound simple, but getting them right means handling dozens of operator-specific quirks: circle-based pricing, operator porting, DTH package add-ons, and plan catalogues that change daily. Wepego's recharge API absorbs all of that so your app doesn't have to.

Give us a mobile number and we auto-detect the operator and circle using live number-range data — no dropdown for the user to get wrong. Give us a DTH subscriber ID and we validate it directly against the operator before you show a single plan. Either way, the plan catalogue you see is pulled live, not cached from last week.

Once a recharge is confirmed, you get a webhook the moment the operator acknowledges it — typically under a second for mobile, slightly longer for DTH package changes that require operator-side provisioning.

How it works

From number to confirmed recharge.

1

Detect operator

Pass a mobile number or DTH subscriber ID — we auto-detect the operator and circle instantly.

2

Fetch live plans

Pull the operator's current plan catalogue, refreshed continuously — never a stale price.

3

Confirm & recharge

User picks a plan, payment is collected, and the recharge request is sent to the operator.

4

Instant confirmation

A webhook fires the moment the operator acknowledges — typically in under a second.

Why build on Wepego's recharge API

No dropdowns, no stale plans, no guesswork.

Automatic operator detection

FAQs

Recharge, answered.

How does operator auto-detection work?

We match the mobile number against continuously updated number-range data to identify the operator and circle. If a number has been ported, detection still works correctly since we check live MNP status, not just the original range.

What happens if a recharge fails after payment?

If a payment is deducted but the recharge doesn't go through within 24 hours, it's eligible for a refund. See our Cancellation & Refund Policy for the full process and timelines.

How often are plans and prices updated?

Plan catalogues are fetched live from each operator on every request — we don't serve cached pricing, so what your users see is always current.

Does this cover DTH recharges too?

Yes — the same API handles both mobile prepaid recharge and DTH package recharges, including add-on packs, across every major DTH provider.

Can I test recharges before going live?

Yes — our sandbox simulates every operator and DTH provider, including failure and delay scenarios, so you can test your full integration before processing real recharges.
